Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2 June 2026

This policy explains how 2020 Developers ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit 2020-dev.com or contact us. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who we are (Data Controller)

2020 Developers is a web design studio based in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. It is a trading name of Kyle Colquhoun, who operates as a sole trader and is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

  • Email: twenty.twenty.developers@gmail.com
  • Location: Glasgow, Scotland, UK
  • Correspondence address: available on request by email.

2. What data we collect

We only collect data you choose to give us, plus limited technical data needed to run the site securely:

  • Enquiry details — when you use our contact form we collect your name, email address and the message you send.
  • Technical data — our hosting and security provider may process limited data such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and available. We do not use this to identify you.

We do not use advertising trackers, analytics profiling, or sell your data to anyone.

3. How we use your data and our legal basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote — legal basis: your consent (given when you submit the form) and/or taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract.
  • To keep the website secure and working — legal basis: our legitimate interests in protecting and operating our site.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We aim to keep this site as private as possible. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only storage used is:

  • Strictly necessary local storage — to remember that you have dismissed our cookie notice, so we don't show it on every visit. This stays on your device and is not shared.
  • Security cookies (Cloudflare) — our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary cookies (e.g. for bot/abuse protection). These do not track you across other sites.
  • hCaptcha — on our contact form, hCaptcha may set a strictly necessary cookie to tell humans from bots. hCaptcha is privacy-focused and does not use this for advertising.

Because we only use strictly necessary storage, no consent banner is legally required, but we show a short notice for transparency. You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings.

5. Third parties who process data for us

We use a small number of trusted providers ("processors") to run the site:

  • Web3Forms — delivers your contact-form submission to our email inbox. See the Web3Forms Privacy Policy.
  • hCaptcha — protects our contact form from spam and abuse by checking that submissions are made by a real person. This may process limited technical data (such as your IP address and interactions) for security purposes. See the hCaptcha Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the website and provides security/CDN services. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Google (Gmail) — we receive and store enquiry emails in our Gmail inbox. See the Google Privacy Policy.

6. International data transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, they rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum or equivalent contractual protections) to keep your data protected to UK standards.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry messages only as long as needed to respond to you and, where relevant, to provide our services or keep records of our dealings. If your enquiry does not lead to working together, we will delete it within 12 months, unless you ask us to remove it sooner.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to our processing;
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at twenty.twenty.developers@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Please check back occasionally.
